Description:

Join our off-the-grid homestead in the serene landscapes of Hudson Bay, Saskatchewan, and become an integral part of our sustainable living community. Triple H Homestead is seeking a dedicated individual who is passionate about self-sufficiency, eco-friendly practices, and communal living to assist us in various tasks around the homestead.

 

Responsibilities:

Assist with Sustainable Agriculture: Help cultivate our organic garden, including planting, weeding, watering, and harvesting seasonal produce. Learn and contribute to our permaculture practices.

Animal Care: Support in the care of our livestock, including feeding, watering, and ensuring their well-being. This may include chickens, pigs, rabbits, sheep, dogs, or other animals depending on the season.

Off-Grid Living Tasks: Participate in off-grid living activities such as collecting rainwater, managing compost, maintaining solar panels, and assisting with alternative energy systems.

Maintenance: Help with general maintenance tasks around the homestead, including repairing fences, maintaining buildings, and other infrastructure upkeep.

Community Engagement: Contribute to the communal atmosphere by participating in group activities, sharing knowledge, and collaborating with fellow residents.

 

Requirements:

Passion for Sustainable Living: A genuine interest in eco-friendly practices, permaculture, and off-grid living.

Physical Fitness: Ability to perform tasks that may involve lifting, bending, and outdoor work in various weather conditions.

Team Player: Willingness to work collaboratively within a small, close-knit community.

Adaptability: Flexibility to take on various responsibilities as needed and learn new skills.

Responsible and Reliable: Dependable and capable of managing tasks independently when required.

Commitment: Availability for a part-time position with the willingness to contribute to the homestead community.

 

Benefits:

Work for Stay: Accommodation (land) and food provided in exchange for part-time work on the homestead. Please be advised, it will be your responsibility to bring a tent/camper/tiny home, etc.

Learning Opportunities: Gain valuable experience in sustainable living, permaculture, and off-grid practices.

Live-Work Exchange:

You are required to work 4 hours a day (Tuesday – Saturday), and extra hours will be compensated for.

Food grown and processed on the farm will be provided for you to cook on your own. Some meals may be cooked and shared together. Snacks and specific foods will not be provided, but you are welcome to acquire them on your own. 

Drugs and alcohol are prohibited on the homestead. Smoking is allowed, but cigarette butts must be disposed of properly.

After your first week with us on the homestead, we will have a sit-down meeting to review your progress, discuss areas for development, and gauge how long you would like to stay. If your performance and work ethic are not adequately demonstrated within the first week, we may ask you to leave. We need people who really want to be here, work hard, and learn.
